| II. JESUS A) We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. John 3:16 and 20:31 B) We believe that Jesus is the Word made flesh. John 1:14 C) We believe that Jesus is a part of the triune God; equal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. John 5:18 and 1 Jn. 5:7-8 D) Jesus became a man (the Bible speaks of Him as the second Adam). Hebrews 2:16 and 1 Cor. 15:47 E) Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary, a virgin of the line of David. Matt. 1:18, 20, and 23; Luke 1:34-35; and Jn. 7:42 F) Jesus was without sin, from conception until death. He was tempted in all ways but was able to be a perfect man by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and by communion with the Father. Hebrews 4:15 G) Because He was perfect, without sin, Jesus offered Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind to satisfy divine justice and to reconcile men to God through faith in Him. 2 Cor. 5:18 and 1 Peter 2:24 H) We believe that Jesus suffered, bled and died for the sins of each of us. Romans 5:8; Isaiah 53:5; Hebrews 9:14, 28; and 2 Cor. 5:21 I) We believe that Jesus was buried and on the third day He was bodily resurrected. John 2:19-21; Jn. 20:5-7, 27-28; and Luke 24:12 & 39 J) This resurrection is proof of the acceptance of His sacrifice. 1 Cor. 15:12-17 K) Forty days later Jesus ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father. Acts 1:3; Hebrews 4:14-16 and 8:1; Mark 16:19 L) There Jesus serves as the believers’ High Priest and intercedes on their behalf before the Father. Hebrews 7:25 M) Jesus will come to take the believers to Heaven in the Second Appearing. 1 Thess. 4:16-17 N) We believe that Jesus will come again personally — bodily. Matthew 24:30 O) Jesus will reign on earth for 1000 years. Revelation 20:4-5 P) Jesus will judge the living and the dead. Rev. 20:11-15; and John 5:22 Q) Jesus will set up His kingdom that will be forever and ever. Rev. 11:15 R) Jesus was in the beginning, He was with God, He was God. John 1:1-4 S) Jesus was involved in the creation of this world (He was the creator along with God the Father). John 1:10 and Colossians 1:15-19 T) Jesus performed miracles while He was on this earth by the power of God. John 3:2 U) We believe that Jesus Christ is perfect God, perfect man, God incarnate from conception, and one with the Father from eternity. 1 Jn. 1:5 & 7 |
