| XI. MAN A) We believe that man was created by God- B) We believe that God created man- a little lower than the angels Psalm 8:4 and Hebrews 2:6-7 C) in His image, a three-fold being. Genesis 1:26; 5:1; and Hebrews 4:12 D) We believe that God's "breath of life" makes man different from every other creature. (Man should not be cloned.) Genesis 2:7 E) We believe that the soul is not separate from the body on this earth. 1 Thess.5:23 F) Man was not to be compartmentalized but to be the same wherever or whatever he is doing. Deuteronomy 10:12 and Matthew 6:24 G) In other words, the sins of the body effect the soul. James 2:26 and Romans 8:3-7 H) We are body, mind (soul), and spirit. 3 John 1:2 I) The Spirit of man lives eternally. John 3:15; 1 John 5:11-13; and 2 Cor. 5:1-9 J) We believe in the Sanctity of life. Hebrews 2:10-11 and Genesis 9:6 K) We believe that life begins at conception. Psalm 139:13-16 L) To willfully destroy life is to murder. Exodus 20:13 and 1 John 3:15 M) (Abortion, infanticide or euthanasia are destroying God's creation by murder.) Ps.39:4; Deut. 12:31; and Jer.32:35 N) Man was created for fellowship with God. 1 Cor. 1:9 and 1 John 1:3,7 O) We believe the purpose of man's life on this earth is to choose his eternal destiny. Joshua 24:15 P) Man was given a free will to serve or not serve God. Revelation 22:17 Q) Man was to tend the earth and to be a good steward of the natural resources but not to worship it. Romans 1:25 R) Plants, animals, and the remainder of the creation (excluding mankind) were prepared to bless and sustain mankind but are not spiritually equal to or one with mankind. Genesis 1:29 S) Man was created to rule with Christ. Revelation 20:6 T) Man was created to praise the Lord. Proverbs 27:21 and Hebrews 13:15-16 U) Man was created to rule over the earth, an authority that man later gave to Satan. Genesis 1:28
