XVI. PRAYER

A) Jesus taught us that we should always pray. Matthew 6:5, 6, 7

B) We believe that we can talk to God as Father. Matthew 6:9

C) We should praise God as we talk with Him. Matthew 6:9

D) We are taught to ask God for our daily needs. Matt.6:l 1; James 5:13; Phil.4:6

E) We should include a petition for forgiveness and deliverance from evil. Matthew 6:12-13

F) We believe that Jesus is at the right hand of God taking our petitions to God. Hebrews 7:25

G) Jesus taught that we should be constant in our praying. Luke 18:1 and 1 Thess. 5:17

H) If we expect to receive, we must ask in faith. James 1:5-6 and Matt. 7:7-8

I) We need to persist in our asking. Luke 11:8 and 18:2-8

J) We believe that if we ask in Jesus' name that we will receive. John 14:13-14 and John 15:16

K) When we ask in Jesus' name, we are asking in agreement with what Jesus is. 1 John 5:14-15

L) Jesus prayed for His disciples while on earth. Luke 22:32

M) Jesus prayed for us, as future believers, while He was on earth. John 17:20

N) When we pray, we must ask in faith from a pure heart (forgiven and forgiving). Mark 11:23-24 and Luke 18:13-14
