XVII. PROPHECY

B) Prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God through the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:12-21

C) Prophecy is not from man’s interpretation. 2 Peter 1:12-21

G) We believe that all the prophetical visions of the Old Testament; and all things that were written in the law, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning the Messiah, were fulfilled in Christ Jesus, the Anointed One. Daniel 9:24; Matthew 5:17; Luke 24:44; John 5:38-40

H) We believe a true prophet prophecies Christ given peace. Jeremiah 6:14-16; Jeremiah 14:13-15; Jeremiah 23:15-22;
Jeremiah 28:8-10; John 14:27

I) We believe that Christ is the true Prophet, Word of God, yet He was also the Lamb that was slain, who took away the sins of the world. Christ is our Shepherd and we are His sheep. Zechariah 13:1-9; Hebrews 1:1-3

J) Doing to others what you would have them do to you, sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12

K) We believe it is wise to avoid false prophets and false prophecy. We believe we may recognize these “trees” by their “fruit”. Matthew 7:15

L) We believe it is greater to receive a reward for righteousness than for prophetic visions or writings Matthew 10:41
