XV. CHRIST'S SECOND APPEARING

A) We believe that those Christians alive on earth at the end of the age will be caught up in the air with Jesus Christ at His Second Appearing, saved from the immense trials and tribulation of this world. Rapture means snatch away or take out. A better word might be "translation". (Enoch and Elijah were translated into Heaven without seeing death.) Genesis 5:24; 2 Kings 2:9-12; and Hebrews 11:5; Titus 2:13-15; John 14:1-3 and John 11:25-26

B)  How will this happen?
The Lord will meet the believers in the air and the dead will rise, too. John 5:28-29 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

C) The believers' bodies will be changed. 1 Cor.15:50-51

D) This will occur at a time when there will be difficulties on earth and a turning away from true worship of God. Luke 17: 26-36 and Matthew 24:4-8

E) A trumpet of God will sound. 1 Cor.15:52.

F) There will be a shout, the voice of the Archangel and the trump of God will blow. 1 Thess. 4:13-18

G) He will be visible to all at this time, which is His Second Coming. Rev. 1:7 and Matthew 24:27

H)  When will this happen? That is not as important as the fact that we should be ready for Christ's call at any time. 1 Thess. 5:4-6 and Matthew 24:42-44

 I) We believe that Christ will return with the saints to meet His followers in the air, both the dead in Christ, and the living believers in order that we may become like Him, saved from the troubles and trials of this world. 1 John 3:2, Rev. 3:10 and 4:1-2, 1 Thess. 4:13-17

J) The earth and those who do not know the Lord Jesus, will not be waiting for Christ's Coming and they will be surprised when Christ's feet again touch the Mount of Olives and it splits apart Matt. 24:36-39, 2 Peter 3:10, and Zechariah 14:4, Ezekiel 38-39
