VIII. BIBLE A) We believe that the Bible is- the inspired Word of God. 2 Tim.3:16 B) written by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21 C) infallible or absolutely true. Psalm 119:160 D) is for our reproof. 2 Timothy 3:16 E) The words of the Bible cannot be broken, that is they change not. Isaiah 40:8 and 1 Peter 1:24-25 F) Scripture is for public interpretation (to be read and studied). 2 Peter 1:20 G) All Scripture must be fulfilled. Mark 14:49 and Revelation 17:17 H) It is possible to find life in the Scriptures. John 5:39 I) The Bible instructs us and gives us understanding unto salvation. 2 Tim. 3:15-16 J) In the Bible we learn of God, Christ, The Holy Spirit, and the future. Acts 18:28 and Romans 16:26 K) Through the comfort of the Scripture, we have hope. Romans 15:4-5 L) ...can put under our feet those things that threaten to go over our heads. M) "Thy Word" is- that we might not sin. Psalm 119:11 N) life Psalm 119:17 O) a reviving source Psalm 119:25 P) to quicken me Psalm 119:50 Q) a comfort Psalm 119:52 R) a light Psalm 119:105 S) forever Psalm 119:89 T) The Word of God does not pass away. Matthew 24:35 U) We believe that we cannot add to nor take from God's Holy Word. Rev.22:18-19 V) The Bible tells us past, present, and future events as God has planned and is planning. We believe that translations based upon accurate translation from original manuscripts are acceptable- such as New King James, New International Translation, and Amplified Bible. Paraphrases of the Bible such as "The Word" or "Living Bible" are easy to read and understand as long as we use them as a help and refer back to full translations. . We believe that the major emphasis in Scripture is upon the Spiritual rather the physical realm. In the Bible God is speaking through His written Word about the eternal; the temporal is only added as it applies to the eternal. God speaks through the Bible to give to man His plan for all eternity. We believe that the Bible is the only authority for faith, morals, and revelation about God's plan for mankind W) We believe that Scripture will not return void and that it should be used for witnessing.
